At the risk of stating the obvious, as leaders, we have all faced moments when carefully crafted plans were disrupted by seemingly shifting priorities or external forces beyond our control. In this reflective session, we will explore big ideas from The Upside of Uncertainty by Nathan and Susannah Furr, including the concept of uncertainty as a gateway to possibility—not just a source of stress. Together, we will examine the book’s Uncertainty First-Aid Cross—a practical framework of tools for facing the unknown with greater clarity and resilience. This is not a book study or expert-led session (obviously - I'm leading it), but an opportunity for personal reflection, conversation, and connection. Participants will consider how they’ve already used some of these strategies in their leadership journeys and identify new ones to strengthen their capacity to rise through uncertainty with greater intention and impact. (P.S. You do not need to read the book before the session. In fact, it is better if you don’t. That way I’ll look like I know more than I do. Or, you can read the book in advance and facilitate the session, you decide.)
